YouDid — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how the YouDid mobile and desktop application (“App”), developed by Muhammet Goktas (“we”, “us”), handles user data. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect and Process

User Content

The App stores the boards, items, notes, and images you create. This data is primarily kept on your device.

iCloud / CloudKit Sync

To sync your data across your devices and to support the sharing feature, your data is stored in your own iCloud account via Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit infrastructure. Apple’s privacy policy applies to this data. We do not access this data on a server; it is hosted in your iCloud account.

Location Information

If you choose to use the location-based reminder feature, the App accesses your location in order to notify you when you approach locations you have defined. Your location is processed on your device and is not sent to us or to third parties. Using this feature is entirely optional, and you may revoke permission at any time in your device settings.

Photos

If you choose to add an image to an item, the selected photo is downscaled and stored within the App. We only access the specific image you select; we do not access your entire photo library.

Notifications

We use your device’s notification permission to send reminder notifications. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.

AI-Assisted Board Creation

When you use the “Create Board with AI” feature, the text request you enter is sent to an AI service provided by Anthropic (the Anthropic API) in order to generate a relevant list of items. We send this text solely to fulfill your request. Anthropic’s processing of this data is subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy. Using this feature is optional.

2. How We Use Data

• To provide the App’s core functionality (board and item management)
• To sync and share your data across your devices
• To send the reminders you request (time- or location-based)
• To generate item lists with AI when you request it

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your data is processed with third-party infrastructure only in these cases: (a) Apple iCloud/CloudKit (sync and sharing), (b) Anthropic API (only the text you send when using the AI feature). If you choose to share a board with another user, that board’s content is shared with that person through Apple’s sharing infrastructure.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account. You can remove your data at any time by deleting an item, a board, or the App. You may also use Apple’s data management tools for data stored in iCloud.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from this age group.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
